Terms of sale and licence

In effect from 3 November 2026. These terms apply to every Solco licence and renewal bought from that day. Each order's confirmation email carries the terms as they stood when you bought.

1. Who sells, and to whom

PlentyLabs UG (haftungsbeschränkt) & Co. KG
Brunnenstraße 169, 10119 Berlin, Germany
Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, HRA 65450 B · VAT ID DE464390698
Email: hello@getsolco.com

More about us is in the legal notice. In these terms, "we" means PlentyLabs and "you" means the person or business that buys.

These terms apply to consumers and businesses. You're a consumer if you buy mainly for purposes outside your trade, business or profession (§ 13 BGB), and a business otherwise (§ 14 BGB). Where the two are treated differently, the terms say so. Your own purchasing terms don't apply. The contract is made in English.

2. What you buy

Solco is a desktop app for preparing DJ music, for macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows and Linux. You download it from getsolco.com. What you buy is a licence to use it, sent to you as a licence key.

The key is personal. It belongs to one person, is tied to the email address you buy with, and works on up to three of that person's computers. A business buys a licence for one person who will use it. To move the key to another computer, write to us and we free one.

3. When your updates end

When your 12 months of updates end, Solco keeps working. The last version released before that date stays yours to use for as long as you like. Only new versions and the assistant stop. Nothing is charged, and nothing renews by itself.

4. Renewal

You can renew whenever you like, before or after your updates end. A renewal is a one-off payment that gives you another 12 months of updates and the assistant. If you renew while your updates still run, the 12 months are added to the end. If they have already ended, the 12 months start on the day you renew. You keep the same key: Solco picks up the renewal the next time it is online.

5. Prices, tax and payment

The price that binds you is the one shown before you order. Buyers in the EU pay in euros, everyone else in US dollars.

If you buy for a business in another EU country with a valid VAT ID, you pay the price without VAT and account for the VAT yourself (reverse charge). We check the VAT ID with the EU's VIES service; if VIES rejects it or doesn't answer, VAT is charged as for a consumer. Outside the EU you pay the price before tax and account for any tax due where you are, unless we charge that tax at checkout.

In the United Kingdom and some other countries that tax digital products sold to consumers from the first sale, we sell only to businesses: you give your business's VAT or tax number, or confirm that you buy for your business and give its website or company number. We can't sell Solco in Kenya or Mexico yet, and because of trade sanctions we can't sell it in Russia, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria or Cuba.

Payment is by card through Stripe. We send invoices and credit notes as PDFs by email, and you agree to receive them that way.

6. How an order works

7. The playlist assistant

The assistant plans playlists from your library when you ask it to. It is included while your updates run, with no credits to buy, up to a monthly number of messages per licence shared across its computers. The app tells you when a month's messages are used up; they come back the next month. It needs an internet connection.

The assistant is an AI system and can get things wrong. Check its playlists before you play them out. Nothing changes in your library until you approve it.

8. Your music and your data

Solco analyses your music on your computer. Your music, your library and its analysis stay there. Activating a key needs the internet once on each computer; after that Solco works offline. What the app sends when you activate a key, check for updates, use the assistant or choose to share something with us is described in the app privacy notice.

Solco keeps backups of its own library. Keep backups of your music files too, as you would anyway.

9. What the licence lets you do

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Solco for yourself, or for the business you work for, on up to three computers, with the versions and features your licence covers. Solco stays our property; you get the right to use it.

You may not:

You are responsible for having the right to use the music you prepare with Solco. Open-source parts of Solco stay under their own licences, which take precedence for those parts.

Either of us may end the contract without notice for good cause (§ 314 BGB), for example if a key is shared publicly. If we end it, we tell you why and revoke the key.

10. Right of withdrawal

If you buy as a consumer, you can withdraw from any purchase, a licence or a renewal, within 14 days, for a full refund. That holds even after you have activated the key. Businesses have no statutory right of withdrawal.

Withdrawal notice

Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the contract was made, which is the day you paid.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (PlentyLabs UG (haftungsbeschränkt) & Co. KG, Brunnenstraße 169, 10119 Berlin, Germany, hello@getsolco.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement, such as a letter sent by post or an email. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but you don't have to. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is enough to send your statement before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw. We will use the same means of payment as you used for the original payment, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

If you withdraw from a licence, the licence is revoked and the key stops working. If you withdraw from a renewal, its 12 months are taken back and your licence keeps working as before. You can withdraw from a licence for the whole 14 days, whether or not you have activated the key.

Model withdrawal form

Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.

11. Refunds

Beyond the right of withdrawal, there are no refunds, except what the law gives you. If you're a consumer, you have the statutory rights for digital products (§§ 327 ff. BGB), such as a repair, a price reduction or a refund when Solco has a defect we don't fix. A full refund, for whatever reason, revokes a licence, or for a renewal takes back its 12 months.

12. Updates and support

While your updates run, you get every new version we release. If you're a consumer, you also get the updates the law requires to keep your version working as agreed (§ 327f BGB). Support is by email, at hello@getsolco.com, and in the help centre.

13. Warranty and liability

14. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for future purchases. A purchase you have made keeps the terms confirmed to you when you bought it. A renewal is a new purchase, under the terms in effect on the day you renew.
